The decision is normally “buyer experience, seller execution, or both,” not a winner across one shared feature list. Walnut builds a safe, reusable product experience that a buyer can explore without entering the live application. An excellent demo does not complete that seller workflow; an excellent seller workflow does not author or host an interactive product clone.

Separate interactive demos from seller workflow
An interactive-demo platform creates a controlled substitute for exposing the production product. Walnut’s official overview documents interactive demos, playlists, advanced playlists, and interactive deal rooms. Its Chrome extension captures editable HTML and CSS from browser-rendered applications, while other assets can be imported. Buyers can receive a guided story, a freer sandbox-style experience, or a collection of material organized around a sales or customer journey.
A seller-workflow system coordinates internal action. Gangly’s Workflow Sequencer describes a connected path through signals, rep-reviewed outreach, call preparation, live guidance, post-call notes, and CRM hygiene. The seller remains responsible for review and approval. The system does not document the demo-authoring, product-capture, publishing, or buyer-hosting job.
Overlap exists at personalization, buyer context, analytics-triggered action, follow-up, and CRM connection. That overlap is where bad implementations duplicate contacts, tasks, engagement events, and stage suggestions. Treat it as an architecture problem. Do not award either vendor credit for a neighboring job merely because a marketing label contains “AI,” “sales,” or “revenue.”
Compare only documented capabilities
Walnut deserves feature credit only for the contracted plan. Its current pricing page documents unlimited demos, an editor, AI-assisted creation, playlists, engagement analytics, and marketing and CRM integrations on Ignite. Accelerate adds documented capabilities including sandbox demos, prospect personalization, advanced analytics, AI-powered insights, advanced Salesforce integration, SSO and SCIM, and white labeling. Scale describes enterprise capabilities such as digital sales rooms, advanced translations, and demo data access through an API or MCP. Several capabilities also appear as paid add-ons.
That breadth does not prove a particular application captures cleanly or remains inexpensive to maintain. Dynamic tables, canvases, iframes, role-specific data, mobile views, embedded products, and frequently changing interfaces require a representative build test. Confirm author, presenter, viewer, workspace, domain, language, asset, storage, service, and add-on entitlements in the signed order form.
Gangly deserves credit only for the current first-party workflow facts and integrations that work in the buyer’s configuration. Test signal lineage, draft review, supported call channel, note accuracy, CRM association, suggested field updates, approval, retry, and audit. Do not assume it supplies demo analytics, gated experiences, product cloning, playlists, or deal rooms.
Design coexistence around one buyer journey
A clean coexistence design lets Walnut own the demo artifact and Gangly own the rep’s response workflow. A known visitor enters a Walnut experience, explores a relevant path, submits an allowed form or is associated through an approved identity method, and produces a governed engagement event. The CRM stores the accepted contact, account, deal, and activity relationship. Gangly can then use approved CRM or connected context to help the assigned rep prepare an appropriate action.
Never translate “viewed a demo” directly into “ready to buy.” A seller preview, security scanner, forwarded link, shared device, anonymous visitor, or repeat session can distort the signal. Walnut’s official analytics documentation says sessions without an identification method appear anonymous and lists multiple identification paths. Preserve the identification method, event time, asset version, step, confidence, source URL, and consent basis. Let the rep dismiss or reinterpret weak evidence.
Map the complete journey: website embed or seller share, identity, CRM association, demo completion, notification, account selection, outreach, meeting, note, task, stage, and next experience. Test demo fidelity, analytics, and maintenance
Use one representative product journey and deliberately make it hard. Include authentication-like screens without real credentials, dynamic tables, dropdowns, scrolling, a modal, branching, realistic but synthetic data, role variations, a personalized prospect version, a mobile viewport, and an accessibility path. Capture, edit, publish, embed, share, complete, and revoke it on the browsers and networks buyers use.
Then change the source product: rename navigation, move a control, alter a workflow, replace a brand asset, and change a data value. Ask the assigned content owner—not the vendor—to detect the stale experience, identify dependent variants, repair it, obtain approval, republish, and verify analytics. Record build hours, repair hours, QA defects, blocked interactions, load behavior, accessibility failures, and time to restore a previous good version.
For analytics, create a truth log for known viewers, anonymous viewers, forwarded links, incognito sessions, form-gated sessions, internal users, partial completions, repeat visits, and deliberate drop-offs. Reconcile sessions, identities, steps, time, asset version, source, account, and CRM destination. Engagement supports a follow-up decision; it does not establish causation or buying intent on its own.
Prove CRM authority and governance
Give every event and field one write authority before connecting either product. Your matrix should include object or event, authoritative source, allowed reader, allowed writer, trigger, identity key, matching rule, association, approval, validation, conflict behavior, retry, idempotency key, audit location, retention, deletion, export, and owner.

Knockout gates may include required browser or application fidelity, no production customer data in a demo, required CRM and identity system, accessibility, region, SSO, retention, deletion, export, audit, consent, and zero unexplained destructive CRM writes. Redistribute weights when one job is genuinely out of scope; never grant roadmap credit.
Run a matched 30-day proof of concept
Run one baseline week, two operating weeks, and one failure-and-administration week. Use two representative demo creators, several ordinary sellers, known internal test buyers, and 15–25 active or synthetic opportunities spanning simple and complex journeys. Use synthetic product and buyer data unless security approves otherwise. Give each condition the same content, CRM quality, enablement, and management attention.
- Baseline the current live-demo, async-demo, follow-up, CRM, content-maintenance, and manager-reconstruction work.
- Build one reusable Walnut experience and three controlled variants. Test website, seller-share, and follow-up distribution.

Walnut’s public pricing page reviewed August 8, 2026 lists Ignite at $575 per month and Accelerate at $1,550 per month, billed annually, with Scale at custom pricing. It lists three editor and presenter seats on Ignite and six of each on Accelerate. Confirm all current figures, add-ons, services, feature entitlements, taxes, minimums, renewal terms, and overages in a dated quote. Gangly pricing and packaging also require current written confirmation.
Calculate: three-year TCO = subscriptions + creator, presenter, seller, viewer or usage costs + add-ons + implementation + demo creation and maintenance + integration + security and legal review + training + administration + support + parallel run + retained tools + exit − tools actually retired. Model Walnut-only, Gangly-only, both, and a process-change baseline. Do not count the same saved hour twice.
Choose Walnut when interactive product access clears the funded-job threshold and the team can operate the content. Choose Gangly when the matched test proves seller execution is the constraint. Choose both only when each clears its own threshold, the combined workflow beats either alone, and authority tests prevent duplicate or unsafe action. Make the result reversible. Document product and plan versions, configurations, data map, asset inventory, baseline, cohort, score, failures, quote, cost assumptions, content export, CRM cleanup, contract dates, owners, success review, and rollback.
