Switch from Outreach only after assigning a new owner to engagement execution. Prospects, accounts, sequences, templates, tasks, steps, mailboxes, calls, replies, meetings, analytics, experiments, CRM state, pipeline views, and conversation evidence are connected but different jobs. Gangly’s reviewed drafting workflow does not replace all of them.
This guide relies on Outreach’s official product documentation and Gangly repository facts accessed August 9, 2026. Competitor displacement pages were reviewed for buyer objections but not used as factual authority. Gangly did not test Outreach or verify outcome claims.
Start with the engagement jobs
Write the execution contract before selecting a replacement: eligible record, owner, channel, message, step timing, stop rule, suppression source, reply route, meeting result, CRM authority, failure handling, and audit evidence.
Inventory active and historical sequences, enrolled prospects, queued steps, tasks, templates, snippets, mailboxes, phone and social tasks, replies, meeting outcomes, experiments, reports, CRM mappings, user roles, integrations, and retention. For each, mark current use, required future state, source of truth, export path, and acceptance test.
Use the Outreach CRM sync test to establish current record and activity behavior. Migrating an unmeasured sync problem can reproduce it in the destination.
What Outreach currently documents
Outreach documents a broad sales engagement surface. Its current sales engagement page describes task prioritization, sales playbooks, sequences, templates, snippets, multi-stakeholder sequence handling, AI-supported sentiment, A/B testing, and analytics.
The same page also presents adjacent AI agents, forecasting, pipeline management, deal management, and conversation intelligence. These are advertised capabilities, not independent performance evidence. Confirm the exact products, seats, channels, controls, integrations, support, and commercial terms in the proposed renewal.
Where Gangly is and is not a substitute
Gangly can assist rep work but is not documented as a full sales engagement platform. Repository facts describe selected signals, an Outreach Writer that creates one message for rep review, call preparation, supported live guidance, post-call drafts, and reviewed CRM follow-through.
| Required job | Outreach documentation | Gangly boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Sequence execution | Multi-step sequences and prioritized tasks | No automatic or bulk sequence engine claim |
| Channel operation | Engagement across configured channels | Email/LinkedIn drafts for rep review; no dialer claim |
| Testing and analytics | A/B testing and team analytics | No equivalent enterprise experiment suite claim |
| Pipeline and forecast | Adjacent platform capabilities | No forecast or pipeline platform replacement |
| Rep workflow | Engagement-centered execution | Signal through meetings and reviewed CRM follow-through |
If the team requires automatic cadence execution, dialer operations, large-scale task orchestration, or engagement analytics, keep Outreach or select another proven owner. Gangly may complement an SEP by preparing evidence and messages, but duplicate enrollment and contact authority must be prevented.
Run a shadow sequence test
Compare the same eligible cohort under the same message and suppression policy. Run the proposed replacement in shadow or draft-only mode while Outreach remains authoritative. Include duplicates, existing customers, open opportunities, active sequences, opt-outs, bounced addresses, replies, out-of-office messages, owner transfers, namesakes, delayed CRM updates, revoked mailboxes, and partial write failures.
Measure eligible records, correctly suppressed records, accepted tasks or drafts, delivered messages, replies by type, booked and attended meetings, wrong-person actions, duplicates, complaints, correction minutes, rep/admin time, CRM reconciliation, and unresolved failures. Use the same denominators and do not equate a draft with a delivered touch.
Hard-stop on suppression bypass, unauthorized contact, duplicate sends, reply misrouting, missing activity history, or irreconcilable CRM writes.
Plan the switch boundary
Stop live work deliberately; do not simply disconnect integrations. Freeze new enrollments, inventory queued and active steps, preserve replies and suppression, decide how open tasks finish, snapshot governed assets, export available data, stage the destination, run a final delta, and reconcile every eligible record.
The Outreach migration checklist owns the asset crosswalk, documented export paths, active-sequence stop, snapshots, hashes, reconciliation, dual run, rollback, credential revocation, retention, and deletion evidence. Cancellation happens after acceptance, not before discovery.
Make the decision
Keep Outreach when sequence execution, channel operations, analytics, and adjacent revenue jobs are required and proven. Use Outreach with Gangly when the SEP remains authoritative and Gangly demonstrably improves selected research, preparation, and reviewed outputs. Switch only when every active engagement job has a tested owner and the destination passes suppression, reply, CRM, and recovery gates.
Normalize licenses, seats, channels, usage, data and sending infrastructure, implementation, administration, content operations, deliverability, review, correction, integrations, overlap, export, migration, and exit. Compare cost per accepted outcome only after scope and denominators match.
